Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide paint free from foreign materials, such as dirt, sand, fibers from bags, or other material capable of clogging screens, valves, pumps, or other equipment used in a paint striping apparatus. Grind the paint pigment and properly disperse in the vehicle. The dispersions shall be of such nature that the pigment does not cake or thicken in the container and does not become granular or curdled. Any settlement of pigment in the paint shall be a thoroughly wetted, soft mass permitting the complete and easy vertical penetration of a paddle. Settled pigment shall be easily redispersed, with minimum resistance to the sideways manual motion of the paddle across the bottom of the container, to form a smooth uniform product of the proper consistency.; Totes shall comply with the following: 1. The totes shall be 46-inch nominal outside tank diameter.; 2. The outside dimensions of forklift skids shall be 46 inches, plus or minus 2 inches square.; 3. Totes shall have screw down, bolt down, or hinged tops.; 4. Totes may have an additional opening to facilitate manufacturer's fill process.; 5. Totes shall have a pressure and vacuum relief valves. Opening of the container for vacuum relief shall not cause the paint to come in contact with air. The system used must ensure operation during and after transportation and handling, and after storage up to one year after delivery.; 6. Totes shall have four-way lift capability.; 7. Totes shall have two-way lifting lugs.; 8. Totes shall be stackable.; 9. Totes shall be constructed so the bottom of the container slopes toward the valve.; 10. Totes shall have a 2-inch ball valve fitted with a male quick disconnect. The male quick disconnect shall be clean and lubricated on delivery and compatible with the purchaser's striping equipment. The valve shall be equipped with a security mechanism to discourage vandalism or accidental opening. No portion of the valve or guard shall extend beyond the vertical plane of the forklift assembly where it could be damaged. The valve guard shall be of sufficient size to protect the valve and disconnect with three inches of clearance on all sides of the valve.
