Specifications include, but are not limited to: Assess previous crises and urgent communications delivered by Washington County; Provide key messages for County programs and strategic messaging as needed during crises and urgent matters related to issues such as homeless encampments, new shelter siting, concerned residents and business owners, new affordable housing development, personnel matters, litigation, or other sensitive issues and topics; Help to determine who should be the key messengers within the organization; Assist with reputation management; Provide training on key messages with senior leadership, county commissioners, program staff, communications staff, and other cross-departmental staff (i.e., community engagement staff) as needed; Assist with proactive communication plans and strategic approaches to respond to crises and urgent issues; Develop web content, social media messages, newsletters, one-pagers, and other types of collateral to effectively disseminate strategic communication around crises and urgent issues; Meet with County Communications staff to develop professional relationships and support each other’s efforts. 1.
