Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.1.1 Curatorial assistants must have previous documented experience with either of two categories of need. They must provide information about their previous experience hanging or installing art or history exhibitions in public galleries. Previous curatorial experience studying and/or handling works of art is also required—meaning the active selection, arrangement, and installation of works of art in public galleries. Demonstrated abilities should include actively hanging and arranging art and/or artifacts in a variety of exhibition spaces. If there is experience with any particularly challenging spaces or systems, that would be a plus. 1.1.2. The second category of curatorial assistance involves previous experience researching and writing history. We seek students, graduate students or experienced researchers to document and write about historic events in Vermont’s past. Research and writing will be directed by the State Curator’s Office-- but we seek experienced individuals who have a demonstrated ability to research and write for both the academic and public audience.
