Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Social Worker will partner with McCullough’s School-Based Team (including but not limited to school administrators, school counselors/psychologists, school nurse, and behavioral health counselors) to support students experiencing challenges engaging with school services or other needs identified by the school-based team. Specifically, social workers will: ● Participate in school-based team meetings for the purpose of identifying students/families who would benefit from additional support ● Provide direct support/service (individual or group) to students in response to school referrals ● Conduct home visits as a method to access the family and conduct interviews in response to school referrals. ● Interview students and parents to discuss issues related to non-attendance and develop a plan of action. ○ Working with parents to facilitate their support in their children's school adjustment. ○ Alleviating family stress to enable the student to function more effectively in school & community. ○ Assisting parents in accessing and utilizing school and community resources. ○ Provide staff with essential information to better understand factors (cultural, societal, economic, familial, health, etc.) affecting a student’s performance and behavior. ● Maintain the confidentiality of student information. ● Maintain an ongoing liaison with community agencies and other resources to meet student needs; refers parents and the student to agencies when appropriate. ● Develop and implement professional development training for educational staff and parents, as requested. ● Perform related work as required by the building administrator or designee
