Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of Alaska, Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) owns and operates the Akutan Airport, located along the Aleutian chain at Latitude 54.133106 / Longitude 165.777222. Satellite service is currently being provided to the airport via G18 burstable service 1.5 Mbps x 1.5 Mbps 10:1 contention on an iDirect x5 modem, along with the capability for four (4) VoIP lines, with a monitored Quality of Service (QoS). The purpose of the satellite service, is to remotely monitor weather conditions at the airport, in lieu of the FAA, for the safety of the flying public. This is part of the Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS), which is owned by DOT&PF and maintained by the Alaska Weather Operations Services, Inc., under contract #2521S004. DOT&PF requires the following service for the Akutan Airport: - Monthly 24/7, 365 satellite and Network Operations Center (NOC) services - Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP)/Quality of Service (QoS) four (4) line phone service - Service for four (4) airport weather cameras The 24/7, 365 NOC Help Desk phone number and email address must be provided with the proposal. At the commencement of the contract, the Successful Bidder must be able and capable of assuming the same level of service as stated above.
