Specifications include, but are not limited to: The primary goals of this project are as follows: a. Maintain and operate a seasonal tourism/recreation ferry shuttle service between Providence and Newport with weekend and holiday stops in Bristol as described; b. Advertise and market the RIDOT brand package developed for the ferry shuttle service to facilitate increased public access to the many recreational, commercial, scenic, and historic areas in the cities of Providence, Newport, and Bristol as well as any major events occurring during the ferry season; c. Promote the ferry shuttle service as a practicable alternative mode of surface transportation with expansion possibilities in the future; and d. Mitigate traffic and parking congestion on downtown congested roads, especially in the city of Newport.
