Specifications include, but are not limited to: After the contractor has established plot center, the contractor will collect the exact plot center location with a GPS capable of horizontal accuracy of +/- 3 meters (such as a Bad Elf GNSS Surveyor or equivalent) and update the plot location in ESRI Field Maps. This plot location must be within 3 meters of the DNRC supplied plot location. DNRC will provide metal stakes that the contractor will use to mark the location of plot center. The contractor will place this stake into the ground leaving a minimum of 6” exposed above ground and tie a 12”-18” length of yellow flagging onto this stake with the plot number, initials of the data collector and collection date written in permanent marker. The contractor will also hang three (3) long lengths of yellow flagging onto an adjacent tree branch or other nearby visible structure to assist the DNRC in locating the plot for check cruising. If the plot location prevents proper monumenting (rock outcropping for example), the contractor will spray paint a small dot (2” or less) at the plot center location and note this in the plot “REMARKS” column in ESRI Field Maps, as well as hang three long lengths of yellow flagging as near plot center as possible.
