Specifications include, but are not limited to: The TMA shall consist of the following basic components. A crushable cartridge encased in a shell and a lift unit with support assembly for attaching the lift to the rear of the support vehicle. The cartridges shall be contained in the frame assembly. A hydraulic lift system shall also be included in the system to raise the frame assembly and cartridges to a vertical and folded position. When the system is in the horizontal position, the frame assembly shall be capable of collapsing when impacted by an errant vehicle. All exposed steel on the cartridge shall be primed and painted yellow with no lead paint. The undercarriage and support frame shall be primed and painted black with no lead paint. All welding shall be done by or under directed supervision of a certified welder
