Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Texas Center for the Advancement of Literacy & Learning at Texas A&M University is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide a comprehensive digital literacy curriculum delivered through an online distance learning platform for adult learners. The curriculum should include lessons targeting skills and competencies in the following areas: Basic computer essentials (including keyboarding, function keys, special characters, computer operations, such as saving a file to your desktop, creating a file and mouse basics.); Use of basic common software applications, e.g.; Word processing; Spreadsheets; Presentation software; Digital communication, to include email; Internet basics; Digital citizenship; Information literacy; Privacy and security; Vendors must show how content aligns with Northstar Digital Literacy Assessment Standards for Essential Computer Skills.; The bid must be for 1625 transferable seats or licenses (25 per program to be used at 65 programs across the state). Seats or licenses for the curriculum should be valid for one year and transferable, allowing programs to remove one student from the platform and assign that seat/license to another student.; For a distance learning curriculum to be accepted, it must meet standards and reporting requirements for distance learning instruction for adult education participants in Texas. An administrator must be able to track student progress using one of three models for tracking proxy hours.
