Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is soliciting proposals from qualified offerors to provide training and supervision hours to DJJ staff at the McLaughlin Youth Center (MYC) in Anchorage, Alaska relating to chemical dependency counseling (CDC). This project’s goal is to improve mental health and substance misuse disorder treatment services to youth in DJJ facilities and for staff to attain certification levels (CDC I; CDC II; and CDCS) in CDC after the training and supervision hours have been completed. Another goal is for one Mental Health Clinician at MYC to attain Chemical Dependency Clinical Supervisor (CDCS) certification, which will allow them to provide future training on-site to DJJ staff. There are currently six Juvenile Justice Officers and one mental health clinician who will require one-hundred hours of CDC related training and supervision to be provided by the offeror. After that initial training is provided, the mental health clinician will require an additional two-hundred hours of CDC related training and supervision to reach the CDCS level certification, and additional staff may require training towards the end of the project as staff turnover, training needs, and availability allows.
