Specifications include, but are not limited to: Task 1A - Review of existing conditions and community goals to include in the PER:•Description of the location, environmental resources (including watershed), populationtrends, and community engagement. A Statement of Need describing the need this project will address. Include data regardinghealth, sanitation, and security of the community, environmental conditions, and any otherrelevant factors. Cite the source of the data. Task 1B - Soils and Site Investigation of Potential Community Wastewater Systems:For MHCsrequiring a needs assessment of their wastewater system, conduct and report on the following as part ofthe PER process:•Assist the MHC in identifying sites to conduct preliminary site and soils analyses andwastewater permitting capacity analysis.•Obtain written permission for soils testing from landowners.•Conduct site evaluation and hand soil augers on potential leach field sites.•Stake out test pit locations for one site with best potential, call DIGSAFE, arrange for a site visitto conduct soils test pits and determine site capacities, identify sensitive receptors likenearby wells and wetlands, and coordinate with regulatory officials as appropriate.Archeological clearance as specified by state law is required prior to the digging of test pits.•Hire a contractor and excavator to excavate, fill soil test pits, along with restoring topsoiland grass seed and mulch as needed.
