Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1) The Tipton Pond is 1.5 acres and holds approximately 1 million gallons of water. The pond water is impacted with arsenic exceeding 47.5 ug/L, well below 340 ug/l the water criteria for acute warm water aquatic life. The pond water arsenic levels allow for a one-time discharge with a permit from the Division of Water. Once the pond is dewatered the pond sediment can be removed (allowed to air dry) and disposed offsite to the 35 mg/kg arsenic background level established for the site. Material around the pond and pond drainage area will be tested in the field and disposed of where necessary. 2) The selected engineering consultant will prepare a bid specification for labor and materials necessary for the dewatering, excavation and reclamation of the pond, and other environmental impacted areas in downstream drainages. 3) Kentucky Division of Waste Management Superfund Branch (SFB) will provide the selected engineering consultant with known site characterization information and data necessary in determining areas of impacted soil, excavation locations and quantities, contaminate concentrations, anticipated clean-up levels, analytical data for waste disposal, and on-site areas that are suitable for fill or material use. SFB will provide previous historical soil removal activities or incidents, existing soil boring data and soil classifications. 4) The selected engineering consultant will provide an estimated timeline for the sequence of work to be completed within 120-days and provide construction management and oversight to ensure project completion in a timely manner. 5) The selected engineering consultant will conduct a pre- and post-construction land survey, performed by a Kentucky licensed surveyor, of the Tipton Farm area to determine existing conditions, and to prepare a final contour map.
