Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.1 Street Name Arms – for the installation of street name stems and street name plates on a wood or metal pole: 2.1.1 The Street Name Arms shall be fabricated as detailed on the Street Name Arm Detail (attached). 2.1.2 The Street Name Arm shall be made from new high quality steel. 2.1.3 The Street Name Arm shall be provided in 20” lengths as specified in purchase order. 2.1.4 The Street Name Arm shall be wholly galvanized either by hot-dip galvanization or electroplate process. 2.1.4.1 It is understood that an additional hole may need to be drilled in the end of the arm to allow for the galvanization process. 2.1.5 The Street Name Arm shall have a 5/16” weep hole drilled on the under side of the arm located on the arm centerline, 1” from the pole mount end of the arm. Weep hole is not shown in provided drawing. 2.2 Street Name Stem – for installation of street name plates upon a Street Name Arm: 2.2.1 The Street Name Stem shall be fabricated as detailed on the Street Name Stem Assembly detail. 2.2.2 The Street Name Stem shall use new materials. 2.2.2.1 The Street Name Stem upper square portion shall be made of galvanized 1-1/2” square tubular 12 gauge steel with 7/16” prepunched holes spaced 1” on center on all four sides. 2.2.2.2 The Street Name Stem lower round portion shall be fabricated from new 2-1/8” long by 2-1/2” ID schedule 40 steel pipe and a 3/16” by 2-7/8” diameter disk. 2.2.2.3 The 3/16” by 2-7/8” diameter disk may be welded on the inside of the pipe or externally welded provided any external welds are ground smooth. 2.2.2.4 The round pipe section shall have two holes drilled and tapped for 3/8” UNC coarse thread; holes shall be located 1” up from the base one-third of the pipe’s circumference apart from each other. 2.2.2.5 The square tubular portion of the Street Name Stem shall be attached plumb to the lower cylindrical section by welding both sides of all four corners while leaving an opening or weep hole on all four sides. See Street Name Stem Assembly detail. 2.2.2.6 The length referenced in the line item is the length of square tube attached to the lower or base portion of the assembly. Stem length will be 13-1/2”.
