In March of 2022, the Pulaski County Planning Board adopted a Resolution recommending the county adopt a County-wide Land Use Plan undertaking the consideration the need of a county-wide land use plan (reference attachments tab) to: Ensure and accommodate orderly development and redevelopment that respects existing communities including their infrastructure (or lack there of). Ensure the protection of areas of environmental concern including, among other things, aquifers, aquifer recharge areas, soils poorly suited to development, floodplains, wetlands, prime agricultural and forest lands, the natural habitat of rare or endangered species, areas with unique ecosystems, or areas recommended for protection in the Arkansas natural areas plan. Lessen congestion in the roads and streets. Promote security from fire, panic, and other dangers. Promote health, safety, and the general welfare. Reduce light, air, and water pollution, especially in the areas of watersheds, wetlands, tributaries, and other natural areas. Avoid undue concentration of population. Facilitate the adequate provision of water, sewer, schools, parks, and other public requirements
