Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Temporary fencing and all related work defined herein (the Work) shall be performed in accordance with industry best practices, including but not limited to fencing products and installation services on an as needed basis, as well as furnishing all necessary personnel, tools, equipment, materials and supplies. 2. Temporary fencing in and around County buildings must be erected before any work, excavation or other site preparation begins, including repair to and securing existing infrastructure. Design of all temporary or construction fencing must meet current OSHA standards. Two weeks minimum notice is to be provided to Facilities Management before any fencing is erected. Damaged fencing must be addressed within twelve (12) – twenty-four (24) hours to secure the site. 3. Fencing needs to be installed to secure all County buildings for the general public to any sites/areas as requested/needed. Repairs/maintenance of the installed fencing due to vandalism or unforeseen events, will be required of the contractor. 4. Placement of any fencing needs to respect the surrounding area and acknowledge the presence of: local environmental conditions – access or pathways, stairs, trees or vegetation, weather, equipment, working inside or outside etc. Placement also needs to recognize the difficulties that individuals with sight impairment face and not place them in danger through unexpected changes in travel routes or placement of obstacles. Placement of any construction fencing is to be reviewed by Risk Management to ensure compliance with “Interim Life Safety Measures” protocols. 5. The duration of project length will also determine the type of protective barrier to be put in place. When fencing is required, it will surround the entire facility and be kept in place throughout the necessary activity and not removed until the need has ceased and the area made safe.
