Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Review and analyze school construction applications, participate in site evaluations, and prepare priority recommendations for funding school construction.; 2. Advise in the development of project cost estimates and funding schedules for projects based on debt service limit.; 3. Advise superintendents of schools through all phases of the school construction process.; 4. Attend project design meetings with Department staff and local education agency officials from initiation of project through occupancy.; 5. Review Educational Specifications and Space Allocation Workbooks for proposed building projects in support of Maine’s Whole Student approach.; 6. Assist in rule writing and revisions pertaining to school construction.; 7. Assist in the development of project development manuals and State school construction guidelines including learning space standards for public schools.; 8. Assist and support the development of specialized program spaces including Early Childhood Education, Career and Technical Education, and Child Development Services within school construction projects; 9. Assist in the development and maintenance of school construction budget data.
