Specifications include, but are not limited to: 25.1. Company and Employees 25.1.1. Contractor shall be an established company in the automobile/ truck glass repair and replacement business for at least three (3) years. 25.1.2. Contractor shall have employees sufficiently trained in automobile/truck glass repair and replacement. Contractor shall also have trained and certified technicians for Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) calibrations. All work will be performed to the highest standards of workmanship, in accordance with industry accepted practices. Material application will be done in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions to the degree applicable. 25.2. Quality 25.2.1. Employees shall use the latest techniques and equipment in auto glass repair and replacement to reduce cost and down time for City vehicles. 25.2.2. Contractor shall be solely responsible for initiating, supervising, and maintaining any needed safety precautions in connection with the work. 25.2.3. Contractor shall advise the City if the Contractor believes that improper operator’s procedures or improperly installed equipment was the cause of, or significantly contributed to, any failure or repair. 25.2.4. The City shall be the sole judge for acceptance and approval. 25.2.5. The City reserves the right to withhold payment for any and all product or services if, at any time, the awarded Contractor cannot supply the services within the times specified herein. 25.3. Parts and Services 25.3.1. Contractor shall use repair and replacement parts that are equal to or better than the original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) installed parts. Types of vehicles covered by this bid are all applicable vehicles in the City fleet. 25.3.2. Accepted OEM Glass brands will be Ford (Carlite), General Motors (PPG-Pilkington), and Chrysler (Mopar). Vendor must state brand name or manufacturer for all items being bid. Contractor shall not substitute brands without prior authorized consent from the City-County. 25.3.3. Alternate brands bids will be evaluated and may be acceptable so long as they are verified as equal to or better than specified. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to substantiate the quality of their product(s). The City-County will be the sole judge for acceptance and approval. 25.3.4. The City reserves the right to purchase product from an alternate source if, at any time, the awarded Contractor cannot supply the service within the time specified herein. 25.3.5. Contractor shall guarantee availability of City requested parts. Failure to provide parts within the allotted delivery of service time will reflect on Contractor’s total performance. If at any time back orders or non-availability exceed 5% of total purchases, Contractor may be subject to contract cancellation. The City shall be the sole judge of Contractor performance.
