Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Asphalt for Hot Mix: Use PG 52-28 Asphalt Cement, which shall conform to the requirements of AASHTO M320 and the AK DOT&PF Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, 2020 Edition, Sections 401 and 702. 2. Hot Mix: Type II, Class B shall conform to the AK DOT&PF Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, 2020 Edition, Sections 401, 702 and 703. Additionally, the minimum Liquid Asphalt content shall be 5.3% as tested by ATM 405/406. The aggregate shall conform to Section 703-2.04 including the gradation requirements in Table 703-4. The addition of Recycled Asphalt up to 15% by weight of mix is permitted and encouraged. 3. Hot Mix: Type III, Class B shall conform to the AK DOT&PF Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, 2020 Edition, Sections 401, 702 and 703. Additionally, the minimum Liquid Asphalt content shall be 5.7% as tested by ATM 405/406. The aggregate shall conform to Section 703-2.04 including the gradation requirements in Table 703-4. 4. Cold Mix: MC-250 Asphalt Cement will be used and shall conform to the AK DOT&PF Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, 2020 Edition, Section 702. Aggregate shall be used that meets the specification of Type III in Section 703, including the gradation requirements in Table 703-4.
