Specifications include, but are not limited to: Service is to include furnishing, laundering, cleaning, and mending & replacement of items as necessary in order to maintain a neat and orderly appearance. The Contractor will provide names tags and VRT emblems for each employee and will attach them to the shirts, jackets & coveralls to be furnished. There will be no additional charge for the names tags or attaching them to the garments. Service shall include weekly laundry as well as repair or replacement of items as may become necessary due to normal wear and tear. Items to be laundered will be picked up by the Contractor at Valley Regional Transit locations: 4701 S. Northrup St., Boise, ID and 5907 Cleveland Blvd. Caldwell, ID 83607, who will then launder the items and return them to the proper VRT location the following week. All laundry is to be done using only the best commercial practice appropriate for the items. If any item cannot be returned the week after it has been pickup up for laundry a comparable "loaner item" must be furnished in its place at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE to VRT. Said "loaners" must be furnished in accordance with the specified delivery schedule. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this procedure. In the event that the Contractor fails to provide the requested number of uniforms for any employee on any given week and the employee is unable to work a scheduled shift(s), the Contractor will reimburse Valley Regional Transit for that employee’s full wages.; ITEMS TO BE FURNISHED: ENTRANCE MATS: Dark Grey color; must be of polyester face yarn bonded to a gripper type vinyl back constructed with numerous small grips that will reduce movement of the mat on tiled and carpeted surfaces. Filament facing must be bright, durable and colorfast. Filament must be hot welded to a non-slip minimum 1/8" vinyl back which will not buckle or curl up on the corners when laid on the floor when new or after repeated washings. The depth of the pile and static electricity shall be sufficient to hold the dirt that has been brushed off of boots & shoes. The entrance mats shall lay flat at all times so as not to create a safety hazard.; • Cleaning of floor mats with only be required for the HDTC location.; MAINTENANCE WORK SHIRTS: Shirts must be constructed of durable 65/35 poly/cotton blend cloth material capable of withstanding rough use in a maintenance shop environment. Shirts must be light breathable work shirt with a dirt-hiding micro-pattern woven in, a lined collar and two button-through pockets; left front pocket must have a pencil stall. Shirt must have reflective stripes. Shirts must retain a neat and orderly appearance after repeated laundering. Sizes available must be S-5XL. Must be available in Long Sleeve and Short Sleeve; Required available Color: Navy/Dark Blue. Color to be selected by Valley Regional Transit at time of fitting.; • Maintenance work shirts must include reflective stripes on the front, back and sleeves of the shirts. Reflective stripes do not have to be affixed to sample shirts but samples of the reflective stripes must be submitted along with the shirt sample.; WORK PANTS (Cargo): Plain front, constructed of durable 65/35 poly/cotton fabric; quarter-top front pockets and two hip pockets; side cargo pockets with hidden snap closures; larger reinforced belt loops; doubleneedle stitching around pocket openings; Pants must be of a material capable of withstanding rough use in a maintenance shop environment. Must be wrinkle resistant and must retain a neat and orderly appearance after repeated laundering. Sizes available must be 28-38 in 2” increments and 40-58 in 2” increments. Inseam length specified at time of order. Women’s sizes must be available with inseams 28” to 36”. Required available color: Navy/Dark Blue. Color to be selected by Valley Regional Transit at time of fitting.; MAINTENANCE JACKETS: Maintenance Jackets must be all weather and high visibility (HiVis). The jacket must have reflective strips on the front, back and sleeves of the jacket. Jackets must be fully lined and are to be constructed of durable 65/35 polyester/cotton blend with ribbed knit collar, waist band & cuffs. Jackets must have an inside pocket and angled side pockets. Jacket material must be capable of withstanding rough use in a maintenance shop environment and must retain a neat and orderly appearance after repeated laundering. High visibility jackets are required. Sizes available must be S-5XL, Regular & M-5XL, Long.
