Specifications include, but are not limited to: Construction: Toddler Playground Within the footprint marked on Exhibit B – Existing Conditions Plan, the Contractor shall provide all materials, labor and equipment to complete installation of the following: • An inspired selection of features appropriate for 2-to-5 year-olds o Equipment included in proposals should demonstrate a review of other equipment available within the playground area shown in Exhibit B. The new structure should avoid providing opportunities for play that duplicate existing equipment. • Layout and equipment must comply with ADA Accessibility Standards for playgrounds and preferably, will demonstrate incorporation of Universally Accessible Design. • All equipment must conform to ASTM 1487-11. • Provide depth specifications for safety surfacing in compliance with ASTM F2223. o BPRW will procure and install engineered wood fiber according to depth and schedule specified. • No flexible climbers using encapsulated or coated chain. • No suspended stepping stone balance climbers. General Specifications for Equipment • All metal playground components such as: posts, ladders, decks, rails, etc. shall be constructed of fully-welded galvanized steel with powder coat finish or stainless steel. • Any wooden playground components shall be made from locust (Robinia spp.). • All plastics shall be integrally colored, prefinished PVC, polymer, or other molded plastics. • All hardware/fasteners shall be stainless steel. • Minimum lifetime warranty on all deck posts, fastening system, and associated fastening hardware against structural failure caused by corrosion or deterioration from exposure to weather, defective materials, or defective workmanship. • Minimum 10-year warranty on all steel components including railings, loops, and rungs against structural failure caused by defective materials or defective workmanship. • 15-year warranty on support materials and decks against structural failure caused by corrosion, defective materials, or defective workmanship. • Minimum 1-year warranty on all products not listed above against structural failure caused by defective materials or defective workmanship.
