Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of West Virginia operates and maintains statewide networks for data, video and voice transmission that are shared between government and education entities including state agencies, higher education, K-12 schools, libraries, and county/municipal units of government. The next-generation statewide Wide Area Network (WAN) known as Data Transport 2.0, has been designed to enable a single vendor to provide secure, flexible, reliable, and cost-effective services including Ethernet WAN services and dedicated Internet access, and to enable value-added support services from the Vendor. The current WAN services contract is set to expire on June 30, 2022. The services will be brokered and/or managed by the West Virginia Office of Technology (WVOT), where applicable. It is the State’s intent that Data Transport 2.0 leverage the cost efficiencies of shared services (centralized billing, ordering, technology support, network services, and cybersecurity services).
