Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Work to be included in the Construction Contract is generally described as providing all materials and labor to replace the two (2) air handlers and two (2) boilers at the Public Safety Complex, located at 7200 Barrister Drive, Boise, ID 83704, as more specifically detailed in the Project Manual specifications and drawings.; AIR HANDLING UNITS: A. General: Provide factory-fabricated and factory-tested air handling units as indicated, of sizes and capacities as scheduled, and as specified herein. Provide units specifically designed for outdoor application with construction features as specified below.; B. Electrical Components: 1. Factory pre-wire all components as shown on drawings and as specified herein, requiring only interconnecting between sections and main power and service power connections. All wiring shall comply with the applicable provisions of Division 26. Pay particular attention to conduit and raceway requirements.; 2. Coordinate with Division 26 contractor as to exact extent of field wiring required. See submittal requirements for further information. ; 3. Electrical components required to be factory furnished, installed and wired include but are not limited to: a. Service receptacles; b. Light fixtures and switches; c. Wiring, conduit and junction boxes; d. Variable frequency drives; e. Motor service disconnects; 4. Each fan motor shall be wired to a variable frequency drive (VFD) within a recessed compartment. The VFD shall be in compliance with section 23 05 07. The disconnect handle operating keypad and pilot lights for the VFD shall be mounted on the exterior of the compartment door. The compartment shall be ventilated and heated.; 5. Regardless of any conflicts between this and other divisions of this specification, it is the intent of the contract documents that all electrical components be wired to provide a complete and functional system.; C. Casings: Construct casings of double wall, 16 gauge minimum mill galvanized steel outer panel with 20 gauge galvanized steel inner panel, insulated to achieve a minimum R-Value of R-12. Provide 1/8” aluminum treadplate floor gasketed and sealed for an airtight and watertight construction.; 1. Casing shall be constructed entirely of removable panels, or have removable sections to allow the largest component to be removed. Access shall be sized such that only disassembly by mechanical fasteners is required (no cutting). As a minimum, provide removal access for the following components: a. Fan wheel; b. Fan housing; c. Fan base; d. Coils; e. Humidifier; 2. Fan casing shall be constructed of insulated double wall, with 20 gauge perforated galvanized steel-interior section.; 3. High density neoprene gasketing at all panel interfaces. Air tight assembly.; 4. Roof construction shall have structural capability to support 250 lb. point loading.; 5. Provide reinforced points of support (lifting lugs) for either setting or hanging units. Sectional units shall have adequate lugs for each section.; D. Air Blender: Air handler shall include integral multiple air blenders. All units shall be factory built and tested and shall be installed in strict accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and as shown on drawings. Fabrication shall be of .080 gauge aluminum and all welded. Size units for a minimum mixing effectiveness of 70% with 50% outside air.; E. Exhaust Louvers and Outside Air Intake Louvers: 1. Louvers shall be AMCA licensed, and rated in accordance with AMCA publication 511 for air and water performance.; a. Pressure loss shall not exceed .20 inches w g unless otherwise noted on plans.; b. For intake louvers, when unit is in 100% economizer, maximum water penetration shall not exceed .01 oz per square foot, NO EXCEPTIONS.; 2. Outside air intake louvers shall be a minimum of 3 feet above the finished roof surface.; ELECTRIC BOILERS: A. Electric Resistance Boilers: 1. General: Provide factory-assembled and tested electric resistance boilers as indicated. Provide capacities and electrical characteristics as scheduled.; 2. High-Pressure, Pressure Vessels: Construct of carbon steel, in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section I, for working pressures as scheduled. Provide ASME stamp, and register with National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. Furnish ASME data reports.; 3. Low-Pressure, Pressure Vessels: Construct of carbon steel, in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section IV, for working pressure as scheduled. Provide ASME stamp, and register with National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. Furnish ASME data reports.; 4. Base and Lifting Lugs: Mount pressure vessel on 4inch steel channel frame base. Provide lifting lugs welded to pressure vessel, and extending above top of jacket.; 5. Nozzles: Provide flanges for hot-water inlet and outlet, and heating element inserts. Provide threaded connections for water relief valve and boiler drain.; B. Cast-iron Electric Boilers: 1. General: Provide factory-assembled and tested cast-iron electric boilers as indicated. Provide capacities and electrical characteristics as scheduled.; 2. Pressure Vessel: Construct of cast iron, in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section IV, stamped with ASME Code symbol. Insulate pressure vessel surfaces with fiberglass type insulation.; 3. Jacket: Provide steel jacket encompassing boiler with hinged front door for access, and knockouts for conduit and piping. Provide brackets on rear for wall mounting. Provide baked enamel finish, manufacturer's standard color.; 4. Heating Elements: Provide replaceable incoloy sheathed heating elements, with 75 W/sq. in. maximum rating.; 5. Controls: Provide 24-volt control system, factory- prewired, including fuse for each element leg, thermostat terminal block, power input terminal and fuse block, time- delay relays, heavy-duty contactors, and low-voltage transformer.
