Any other manufacturer and model offered must be pre-approved before bid submittal. 101.0 POWER TRAIN: 101.1 Engine: 101.1.1 Must meet all federal EPA emissions standards for the current model year being offered. 101.1.2 (*) Acceptable engines: NAVISTAR A26, MACK MP8, DETROIT DD13 101.1.3 (*) Minimum 450 HP. 101.1.4 (*) Minimum 1,650 lb.-ft Peak Torque. 101.1.5 Front engine crankshaft PTO provision. Crankshaft PTO adapter to be installed; to accept a Spicer 1350 universal. 101.2 Air Intake System: 101.2.1 Air Cleaner: Dual, dry element type, heavy-duty. 101.2.2 Equipped with manual or temperature regulated automatic two-way “Hot/Cold” air pickup, to draw air from outside or underhood (hose disconnect or plug insert is not acceptable). 101.2.3 Air cleaner system to have a restriction gauge or indicator. 101.3 Emissions and Exhaust System: 101.3.1 Vertical exhaust pipe must be OEM shielded behind the rearmost pillar or along the entry door to prevent burns or injury in case of accidental contact by personnel. 101.3.2 (*) The exhaust stack must be designed to prevent water and debris from entering the system. Must extend two feet above the top of the cab; minimum. 101.3.3 Emissions and exhaust system provided must offer unobstructed clear back of cab configuration, right side frame mounted. 101.3.4 Shock-mounted to protect against damage from vibration (if cab mounted). 101.3.5 If flex pipe is utilized, to be stainless steel, not to exceed eighteen inches in length. 101.3.6 (*) The diesel exhaust fluid tank shall be sized to allow 2½ complete fuel fill/empty cycles without needing to be refilled. 101.3.7 The exhaust after-treatment system shall be certified by the OEM for operation at negative 40 degrees Fahrenheit. 101.4 Cooling System: 101.4.1 To include sight glass for easy viewing from the ground with hood in up position. 101.4.2 Front of the radiator to be properly guarded against rocks by including any factory optional grill or grill screen cloth available. In addition, a bug screen is to be included behind the grill. 101.4.3 Cooling system mounting and tank bottom configuration to be compatible and so designed, to not interfere with front-engine PTO (FEPTO) and hydraulic pump mounting. 101.4.4 Anti-Freeze: Delo Extended Life coolant RED, or compatible, and set to a protection level of negative 60 degrees Fahrenheit. 101.4.5 If equipped with spin-on type coolant filter, easily accessible shut-off valve or inline check-valves to prevent excessive loss of coolant when changing of filter. 101.4.6 Shall include a drain cock providing maximum drainage with the unit on level ground. 101.4.7 All coolant lines greater than one inch must be equipped with constant tension hose clamps.
