Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Bentonville is accepting formal sealed bids for the completion of a Rapid Intervention Vehicle (RIV) Apparatus, using an Owner (City) supplied RAM 5500 Dual Rear Wheel (DRW) Four Wheel Drive (4x4) Cab and Chassis, or equivalent cab and chassis for the Bentonville Fire Department.; PLAQUE, LABEL AND PLACARD SPECIFICATIONS: All labels, signs, name plates and instruction plates shall be permanent in nature with the information permanently engraved, stamped, or etched thereon. Labels, signs, and name plates to be installed with plated screws. All labels are to be mounted in a conspicuous place.; Dimension Data Label: The cab dash area shall have an apparatus dimension label installed. The label shall be highly visible, indicating the overall height, length, width, and weight of the vehicle.; Vehicle Final Stage Manufacturer Label: A final stage manufacturer label shall be installed by the fire apparatus body manufacturer in compliance to applicable motor vehicle standards.; BODY AND COMPARTMENT SPECIFICATIONS: Design and Construction: • The apparatus body shall be all aluminum construction. The body shall have Six (6) exterior compartments. After fabrication in a body fixture, the unit shall be mounted on the customer-supplied chassis.; • The apparatus body shall be welded construction for maximum strength and integrity for the entire life of the apparatus.; Body Mounting: • The body shall be mounted to the chassis frame using Grade 8 bolts, coil springs, and UHMW plastic isolators system, which shall allow for flexing of the chassis frames. This mounting method shall provide the greatest combination of strength and flexibility, allowing for maximum body life and quick removal of the apparatus body from the chassis.; • The body shall then be secured to the chassis mountings with six (6) Grade 8 5/8” x 6” bolts. Six (6) 1,220 inch-lbs. steel compression springs shall be installed on these mounting bolts to allow for flexing of the body to chassis mounting.; Exterior Body and Compartment Construction: • The exterior body fabrication shall be constructed of aluminum plate. The floor and sidewalls shall be of body construction that shall be integral, which shall be selfsupporting and welded construction.; • Fabrication shall be off the chassis and assembled on a fixture and then installed on the chassis frame. The body fixture shall hold the body side panels in place, with exterior and interior aluminum sheets and welded to the sub-frame extrusions for extra reinforcement.; ULTRA HIGH-PRESSURE FIRE PUMP SPECIFICATIONS: The fire-fighting system shall be equipped with a heavy duty ultra-high pressure three plunger type positive displacement fire pump.; The pump shall have the following features: • Pump rating: 30 GPM @ 1450 PSI (114 LPM @ 100 bar); • System operational rating: 30 GPM @ 1,450 PSI (114 LPM @ 100 bar); • Brass Manifold; • Stainless Steel Check Valve; • Stainless Steel Plunger Rods; • Bronze Connecting Rods; PTO Installation: • Unit will be configured for mechanical PTO (power takeoff) drive.; • A fire-fighting pump instruction nameplate and necessary warning labels shall be installed on the assembly.
