Specifications include, but are not limited to: The various city departments currently housed in the buildings noted above have added additional staff in recent years, and often individual office locations were determined based on first available space with little attention paid to workflows and cross-department collaboration. This includes the Human Resources, Finance & Budget, Planning Services, Engineering, Information Services, Economic Development, Health Services, Housing & Community Development, and Human Rights departments along with the Offices of Shared Prosperity & Neighborhood Support, City Clerk, City Manager’s, and Public Information, along with some divisions of the Leisure Services department. In the past two years a desire to remain an employer of choice, impacts of COVID-19 on work schedules, and flex scheduling has caused all departments to drastically change the way office areas and customer service areas are utilized. With a vision towards the future and consideration of how future services will be delivered to internal and external customers, the City desires to create more flexible work spaces that foster innovation using a collaborative work style that reflects the City’s values.
