Specifications include, but are not limited to: Facepiece: 1. The facepiece shall be approved foruse with multiple respiratory applications to enable the same user to switch from one application to another without the use of tools 2. The full facepiece assembly and nose cup shall be available in three sizes 3. The lens shall be a single, replaceable, modified cone configuration constructed of a nonshatter type polycarbonate material and shall meet the impact and penetration requirements of a face shield as specified in ANSI Z87.1 4. The lens shall have a silicone-based coating to resist abrasion and chemical attack and meet the requirements of NFPA-1981, for lens abrasion 5. The lens shall have an internal anti-fog coating to reduce fogging of the lens 6. The facepiece shall have a removable check valve to prevent exhaled air from entering and contaminating regulator(demand valve) 7. The facepiece shall have an open port to provide minimal breathing resistance when the regulator is not attached. 8. The head harness shall be a four orfive-point suspension made in the fashion of a net hood to minimize interference between securing of the facepiece and the wearing of head protection and beconstructed of a para-aramid, polyester, or rubbermaterial. 9. Each facepiece shall include a Fleece lined storage bag 10. Facepiece shall be capable of water submersion for cleaning and disinfection. Mask Mounted Regulator: 1. The facepiece-mounted positive pressure-breathing regulator shall supply and maintain air to the facepiece to satisfy the needs of the user at a pressure greater than atmospheric by no more than 1.5 inches of water pressure static 2. The breathing regulator shall maintain positive pressure during flows of up to 500 standard liters per minute 3. The regulator shall also meet or exceed a dynamic flow requirement of remaining positive while supplying a minute volume of 160 liters 4. The breathing regulator shall have attached a low-pressure hose which shall be threaded through the shoulder strap to couple to the pressure reducing regulator mounted on the back frame 5. Connection to facepiece must be a push in or quarter-turn and require only a single hand to be performed 6. Disconnectionfromfacepiecemust be a push in or quarter-turn and require only a singlehand to be performed 7. Heads up display electronics, indicator lights, and the like are integrated into the second stage or breathing valve 8. The breathing regulator shall be arranged to direct the incoming air over the inner surface ofthe facepiece for defogging purposes. 9. The components of the breathing regulatorshall be constructed of materials that are not vulnerable to corrosion. 10. It shall reactivate and supply air only in the positive pressure mode when the wearer affects a face seal and inhales.
