Specifications include, but are not limited to: The PRNC Consultant will work at the direction of the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy, Executive Director and General Counsel to maintain a program for impaired pharmaceutical professionals pursuant to KRS 315.126 to promote the early identification, intervention, treatment and rehabilitation of Kentucky pharmaceutical professionals who may be impaired by reason of illness, alcohol or drug abuse, or as a result of any physical or mental condition. The PRNC Consultant shall be responsible for monitoring participants for compliance with terms of settlement agreements; contacting participants for random urine drug screens; communicating with participants' therapists regarding progress and treatment; maintaining a case file on each participant with properly executed release forms; screening and interviewing new candidates for the program; making recommendations regarding ongoing rehabilitation programs. The PRNC Consultant will maintain timely and accurate communication with the Board on significant events which occur that are related to impairment and the ability to practice safely. The PRNC Consultant will provide written and oral reports in a timely manner to the Board of Pharmacy and attend meetings of the Board on demand. The PRNC Consultant shall investigate all applicants and licensees referred to them by the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy provided the nature of said investigation pertains to impaired pharmaceutical professionals issue as outlined in KRS 315.126. All documentation pertaining to the above will be stored on the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy’s Shared Drive.
