Specifications include, but are not limited to: The SDE English Learner Program is seeking a highly qualified organization to lead kindergarten readiness workshops for our English Learner families. Under ESEA Section 3111(b)(2)(D)(iv), the state may use funds to strengthen and increase parent, family, and community engagement in programs that serve ELs. The SDE is specifically looking for an organization that can provide workshops in Spanish, as over 70% of ELs in Idaho speak Spanish. Key Program Requirements • Workshop or series of workshops which teaches age-appropriate skills for children entering kindergarten • Provides instruction in: language and literacy, mathematics and reasoning, and health habits and wellbeing. • Provides age-specific learning activities for children 4-5 years of age • Provides take home material for parents to use with children in strengthening kindergarten readiness skills, including books and games ; Preferred Qualifications • Has at least one-year experience providing kindergarten readiness workshops in the state of Idaho • In addition to English and Spanish, workshop available in various languages or organization can facilitate translators at an English workshop • Digital content and/or interactive books available for parent use
