Specifications include, but are not limited to: conduct a public survey on resident public attitudes and opinions on theDepartment and furbearer management, including trapping, attitudes aboutspecific furbearer species, and factors that influence trapping approval. If spaceallows, the survey may also include bear hunting methods. Based on past work,the survey will require a sample size of 800 to 1,200 completed surveys. Atminimum, a sample statistically representative of the state’s population with apotential for stratification based on length of Vermont residency and geographicregion will be required. Preference will be given to vendors who can directlycompare results with trend data from past Vermont surveys and/or relatedregional surveys. Extensive experience with natural resource issues is also a plus.Proposals dependent on online-only formats will not be considered.
