Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Student tutoring services required as follows: a) All tutors are professionals with college degree. b) Tutoring for grades K – 12. c) Tutors will be assigned to various campuses throughout the District. d) Tutoring must be aligned to TEKS curriculum in all subject areas. e) Tutors skilled in relationship building and social and emotional learning strategies both in person and virtually f) Tutoring must be aligned to elective subjects such as world languages. g) In-Person (on campus) tutoring delivery format: 1 on 1 tutoring Up to 5:1 student/tutor ratio Small group tutoring Preparation for SAT/ACT and STAAR “Push-In” intervention (tutor comes into the classroom to work with students on a particular skill) “Pull-Out” intervention (tutor pulls a student or small group of students to work on a particular skill) h) Online (Virtual) delivery format: Tutoring formats to include at least one more capabilities: live chat, voice, video Ease of access through a common portal or learning management system Scheduling options that include pre-scheduled appointments and/or on-demand tutoring Tutoring available in multiple languages other than English (especially Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Arabic, and ASL) Capable of integration with Austin ISD technology systems including single sign-on (integration with Canvas LMS preferred) i) Tutoring sessions will occur Monday through Fridays and occasionally on Saturdays. j) Tutors are available during the school day as well as evening hours (online) k) Tutoring services are provided during the Academic year August through July. l) Tutors should be available to attend Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), Teacher Planning or other meetings to inform instruction. m) The tutor, upon request and provided proper training, provides support services to students using a particular intervention/acceleration tool. 2. Tutoring program management services required as follows: a) A Program Manager with college degree and experience in a professional education support role related to education and tutoring and a criminal history background check. b) The Program Manager will coordinate delivery of tutoring services with the designated District and/or campus staff. 3. Tutoring Service Provider Responsibilities are as follows: a) The service provider will ensure that instruction and content used are consistent with those of the school, District standards, Core Values and Goals and are aligned to Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). b) Demonstrated record of effectiveness in increasing student academic achievement. c) Services are high quality, research-based, and specifically designed to increaseacademic achievement. d) Tutoring services are secular, neutral, and non-ideological. e) Tutoring services are administered in a culturally proficient and inclusive manner f) The Service Provider will provide the experience and qualifications of tutoring staff delivering tutoring services. g) The service provider will provide a method for how student’s progress will be measured. h) The service provider will provide a method to communicate student progress to parents, teachers, and school administration. i) The service provider will provide a method of communication with students and families that is approved by district/campus. j) The service provider will provide each campus with a Scope of Work Statement and Financial Proposal with the following details: The duration of services - initiation date, frequency, and duration of services to be provided. The number of students and tutors. The campus location or online delivery method through which services will be provided. Detailed description of the tutoring program services to be provided. Itemized cost.
