Specifications include, but are not limited to: Developmental Disabilities Bid Description: Vermont Developmental Disabilities Council (VTDDC) requests proposals from trainers to teach components of the 2022 Vermont Leadership Series. Potential topics are: “(1) Models of disability and their influence on behavior; (2) Core principles of disability rights, including presuming competence, dignity of risk, person-first language, and inclusion; (3) The legislative process and how to work with legislators; (4) Developing an advocacy campaign; (5) Techniques for addressing people in power; (6) Other related topics that the applicant may suggest. The successful bidder does not need to address all the suggested subjects. Previous experience teaching diverse groups, including people with developmental disabilities is required.
