Specifications include, but are not limited to: Bid price for scrap metal shall be based on a percentage of the American Metal Market’s Scrap Iron & Steel Price for No. 1 Heavy Melt. This price shall be adjusted on a monthly basis, as needed, to reflect the current market price of No. 1 Heavy Melt. Copies of the American Metal Market’s Scrap Iron Price Sheet shall be provided to the Solid Waste Facility Manager on request for verification of market pricing. The bidding contractor’s price shall reflect the percentage of the current Boston Export Market price of No. 1 Heavy Melt. The contractor shall completely remove the scrap metal on a regular basis; at an average of every 90 days. Initially, the contractor shall remove the scrap metal within 14 days of approval of the bid. The contractor shall also have the capability of removing the scrap metal pile within two weeks of being notified by the City.
