Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Field Surveying and conceptual mapping of the general area as shown on the attached map. 2. General planning and civil engineering services. 3. Environmental and traffic analyses to generate alternative alignments that minimize onstreet usage (except the one requested street route), as well as reducing areas of conflict that may pose safety concerns for the bicyclists, motorists and pedestrians. 4. Design Services – (a) Design Services shall include the delivery of conceptual design alternatives in accordance with industry standards, and shall include the following: Preparation of schematic design plans, drawings, reports, exhibits, etc., as necessary to fully describe each bike path alternative design. RIDOT standards and details shall be used as the basis of design. Design criteria as described in the “Feasibility Study- South County Bike Path Phase 4 Canonchet Farm Extension”, by Fay, Spofford & Thorndike, October, 2015, shall be considered minimum requirements for this project (refer to that report for further details) and shall be consistent with those incorporated into Phases 3 and 4A of the existing bike path. This item includes consideration of ancillary items such as signage design, pavement markings, and site delineation design (i.e. landscape screening, security fencing, or other means of delineation) as associated with the overall bike path design. (b) Probable opinion of construction cost (itemized to include permitting, final design and construction costs). (c) Preparation of conceptual drawings and report, in accordance with generallyaccepted standards for transportation site work and in conformance with all applicable Federal, State, and local standards.
