Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Maintain regular communication and consultation with the SILC Chair and SILC Executive Committee. Update SILC Chair and SILC Executive Committee regarding relevant issues related to the implementation of the State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL) and other assignments in progress. Read and route mail in a timely manner. B. Participate in all Executive Committee and full SILC meetings (and sub-committee meetings, when requested), ensuring that all logistical details are addressed to make meetings accessible and productive. This duty includes: 1. Arranging for accessible space. 2. Recruiting interpreters. 3. Assisting members with transportation and reasonable accommodations when necessary. SILC members are expected to participate in their duties as independently as possible. 4. Ensuring that all written materials are accessible by being in large print, Braille, on tape, or in whatever format is needed by SILC members. 5. Ensuring that all materials are sent to SILC members in a reasonable amount of time prior to the meeting dates, recognizing that members often need extra time for reading and/or listening. 6. Assisting in providing whatever other services members need in order to participate effectively in SILC business.
