Specifications include, but are not limited to: ● Ensure compliant and secure management of multiple URI research core facilities and their associated service centers (Biomedical INBRE core ~$150K/yr annual revenue, Nanotechnology core ~$150K/yr annual revenue, Diving core ~$30K/yr, Marine Science core ~$120/yr). ● Collaborative and facility-tailored support for LIMS configuration and implementation across multiple core facilities, including training of facility users, core directors/staff, and associated administrators. ● Calendar features to allow for instrumentation reservation, linked to users’ approved status on instrumentation; automatically creating Google calendar invitations for users and facility manager; available for use on smartphones as well as laptop computers. ● Functions for users to request training/service on specific instrumentation. ● Email links for rapid communication between users and facility staff. ● Ability to link new/potential users to facility staff via email or other mechanisms. ● Facility staff-specific features, including the ability to highlight instrumentation with problems/issues (and remove them from the booking platform until issues are resolved). ● Ability to generate tailored reports of instrumentation usage, grants charged, and other reporting features. ● Ability to remotely support instrument controls. ● Connect to URI’s existing financial systems for closed loop internal billing following monthly reconciliations; keep track of usage hours and consumables for billing. ● Single Sign On to use URI credentials for logging into the system; non-URI users must also be able to log in. ● Robust technical support. ● Ability to add new instrumentation and/or new (core) facilities.
