Specifications include, but are not limited to: - Cold Milling: 100,000 SY; - Asphalt Overlay: 28,000 Tons; Cold Milling the street surface at the location designated on the plans or by the City’s Representative and removing the resulting material from the street right of way. Unless otherwise provided, the reclaimed pavement shall become the property of the City. The pavement remaining after the milling shall provide a surface suitable for maintaining traffic. This work shall not include paint stripping or asphalt patching.; a) FULL-WIDTH MILLING: - The entire street width shall be milled.;; b) EDGE MILLING: - Asphalt shall be removed from curbs and gutters and removed 2” below the road edge of the gutter. From the road edge of the gutter, the street surface shall be tapered to 0 inches of cut toward the street centerline.; c) MANHOLES, DRAINAGE GRATES, AND WATER VALVES: - Provide removal of asphalt that the milling machine cannot reach by using smaller milling equipment, backhoe, etc., or manual labor, i.e., jackhammer, etc.; DESCRIPTION OF ASPHALTIC CONCRETE HOT MIX PAVING: The asphalt concrete hot mix (ACHM) surface course (64-22 PG) shall be placed in accordance with Section 410 Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, 2014 Edition, as published by the Arkansas Department of Transportation.; a) Asphalt Concrete Hot Mix Surface Course (64-22 PG) shall meet requirements of Section 407 of the Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, current edition, as published by the Arkansas Department of Transportation.; b) Tack Coat (.03 gal to .10 gal per square yard for paving on existing asphalt or concrete) conforming to Section 401 of the Standard Specifications for Highway, 2014 edition, as published by the Arkansas Department of Transportation, will be considered subsidiary to the amount bid for in-place asphalt and not paid for separately.; ASPHALT THICKNESS(s) AND SLOPE(s): a) CURBED STREETS – COLD MILLED: - The Contractor shall overlay a minimum of two (2.0) inches at the center of the road and match the gutter height on the outside edge.; b) NON-CURBED STREETS: - The Contractor shall overlay a minimum of two (2.0) inches at the center of the road and a maximum of four (4) inches at the outside edges to provide a 2% cross slope where possible. The outside road edges shall be tapered 45 degrees to provide a drive-off edge. This may be accomplished by using a rubber guide, jig, or other approved device. Compaction of this outside taper shall not be required unless instructed otherwise by the City’s Representative.
