Specifications include, but are not limited to: Duties and Responsibilities (shall include, but are not limited to): - Performing routine physical examinations of youths within seven (7) days of admission to the facility to be held at the facility where the youth is housed; - Performing physical examinations as needed to determine if a youth requires immediate medical attention; - Providing follow-up and management for medical problems such as asthma, seizure disorder, allergies of youth; - Prescribing of medications for youths as necessary; - Ordering and reviewing labs or x-rays when indicated; - Monitoring of immunization records; - Reviewing and making any necessary referrals; - Monitoring vitals and body mass index (BMI); - Completion of all reports required in the performance of medical services; - Assure proper communication with facility medical staff, regarding any perceived needs of the youth within the scope of work. The vendor will have access to and is encouraged to contact the Medical Director for any issues or concerns they may have; - Assure communication with facility medical staff, regarding short notice absences (i.e. sick call), or any foreseeable or unexpected alteration in schedule; - Signing in and out of the facility in the Visitor Log; - Collecting relevant information and participation in Quality Assurance efforts with facility/ facilities, quarterly meetings with Facility Administration, and periodic in-service meetings with facility staff; - Providing a copy of all documentation to the Department of Juvenile Justice to place in the youth’s medical file. - Perform basic staff physicals for all new hires. - Be available in person or via telecommunication for all required meetings.
