Specifications include, but are not limited to: removing and replacing the two Marine Diesel Engines in the R/V First State. This work will include configuring the replacement engines to fit the existing transmissions and exhaust systems.; The vendors shall provide a single, local (within 12 hours driving distance from Dover, Delaware) point of contact (and a backup contact) to handle questions or problems that may arise during the life of this contract.; 1. Removal of existing Marine Diesel Engines: a. Vendor must provide plans for removing existing engines while preserving existing coolant and fuel systems and transmissions.; 2. Marine Diesel Engine Specifications: a. Dimensions, Weight, and Rating Output Engines must be no greater than the following dimensions in order to fit the engine room of the R/V First State: 58”- 60” L, 48”-50” W, 48”-50” H. The engines must not weigh more than 4,300 lbs. The engines must produce between 800 – 900 HP at 1,800 – 2,100rpm; b. Cylinders Engines must be 12 cylinder with 4 valves per cylinder; c. Emissions EPA Tier 2 or 3; d. Cooling System Indirect sea water with heat exchanger; e. Starting System 24 V Battery; f. Engine Type Mechanical preferred; 3. Transmission: a. The new engines must be compatible with existing ZF 350A Transmissions (ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Livonia, MI); 4. Exhaust: a. The new engines must be connected to the existing exhaust system; 5. Cooling System: a. The keel coolers must be flushed and the coolant system for the new engines must be connected to the existing cooling system; 6. Fuel System: a. The new engines must be connected to the existing fuel system; 7. Installation and Sea Trial of new Marine Diesel Engines: a. Vendor must provide plans for installation of the new Marine Diesel Engines that minimize reconfiguration of the R/V First State engine room and provide details on meeting requirements 2 through 6.
