Specifications include, but are not limited to: The District will require a total of approximately (30) ½ day visits of canine services per school year and the visit shall include two (2) or three (3) campuses per visit at any of the following campuses in while school is in session: (2) Comprehensive High School Campuses; (1) Alternative Education/High School Campus; (3) Middle School Campuses; (3) Intermediate School Campuses; CANINE AND CANINE HANDLERS: a. Contractor must use only non-aggressive, non-threatening breeds of dog. Contractor will not use any breed of dog listed in the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) Special Report of dangerous breeds, including pit bulltypes, Rottweiler, German Shepherd and German Shepherd-type, Malamute, Doberman, Chow Chow.; b. Canine handler must be dressed in a distinctive uniform or appropriate business attire (as determined by the District) while on District property.; c. Contractor must provide training information on canines to be used on District property.; d. Canine/Handler teams will be certified annually by nationally recognized association to detect illegal drugs, drinking alcohol, black gunpowder, and certain medications.
