Specifications include, but are not limited to: We are requesting a Motor Vessel (M/V) capable of carrying one or more of the buoys in the array on her deck. Typically, these buoys need servicing about once per year, sometimes more. The M/V will have heavy equipment needed for the recovery and deployment of buoys and to safely handle our equipment (buoys are about 2000 lbs. and our anchors are about 2800 lbs.) and the rest of our mooring gear. Typically we need an M/V that can accommodate our personnel and the equipment need to successfully service a typical buoy/mooring and possibly multiple buoys on a single trip. A schematic of one such buoy can be found in Attachment A of this solicitation. Currently, we occupy 7 sites in the Gulf of Maine from Gloucester, MA to Mount Desert Rock and offshore in Jordan Basin and the Northeast Channel. The specifications and the scope of work can vary from mission to mission, so a minimum requirement would be enough deck space and deck load limit to carry two such buoys and moorings at a given time. Since we recover the active buoy first, we would stow that on deck and then deploy the new buoy when ready. We have an upcoming need for this M/V from a 4 day trip in April 2022 (dates are subject to change). The goal of this RFP is to form a long term contractual relationship with a vendor for immediate and future needs
