Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is seeking a consultant to draft the written legal descriptions for the seven (7) proposed Borough Assembly Districts. The borough will provide: GIS data (Open Data service or shapefile) for the seven new districts GIS data (Open Data service or shapefile) for any applicable local datasets The Consultant will draft new legal descriptions for the seven proposed assembly districts using: The GIS data and shapefiles provided by the borough The legal descriptions for the US Census Blocks within the borough; Any other available information. To the greatest extent possible, the consultant WILL AVOID using terms such as “non-visible point-topoint line” or “on a non-visible point-to-point line to a non-visible point on an unnamed stream”. When there are no geographically identifiable features available, the consultant will instead refer to the Census Block at said location and use its associated legal description for the identification such as “thence along the common border of US Census Block 1033 in Census Tract 000300 MatanuskaSusitna Borough, Alaska and Census Bock 1037 in Census Tract 000300, Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska.”
