Specifications include, but are not limited to: (1) Cost sharing shall be implemented between the Town and the approved site owner at an established percentage. The four site owners have entered into formal Agreement with the Town to take part in the subsidized upgrade of a failing or substandard system with a LSTA.; (2) The successful bidder will work as part of our team with a goal to further the advancement of lower cost-effective nitrogen reducing septic system technology in Rhode Island. Members of our team will be present at the site during LSTA installation,; (3) The LSTA OWTS Repair installations are limited to pre-selected sites located in two south eastern Charlestown neighborhoods. See Table 1 for a list of sites,; (4) The infiltrative surface for the LSTA is considered the bottom of the peastone below the 18-inch ASTM C33 sand/sawdust denitrifying layer,; (5) LSTA vertical separation distance to seasonal high-water table (SHWT) is measured from the base of the infiltrative surface and shall be a minimum of two (2) feet statewide,; (6) If bedrock is encountered, the infiltrative surface shall be at least four (4) feet from the restrictive layer,; (7) LSTA OWTS are timed-dosed systems and must consist of a 1,500-gallon, twocompartment septic tank equipped with a hanging screened pump vault,; (8) A surge storage volume of at least 75-gallons per bedroom will be factored into the design to provide surge flow protection to the LSTA. The 1,500-gallon septic tank and hanging pump vault are the same used for a SPSF,; (9) LSTA sizing is based on conventional STA design parameters by applying the established standard 0.70 gal/ft2/day loading rate to the dwelling total daily flow. GeoMat 1200 or PSND shall be designed as the effluent distribution mechanism in accordance with applicable standards in the 2016 Geomatrix Systems, LLC Rhode Island GeoMat Design Manual and 250-RICR-150-10-6.37.D.; (10) Designed volumes of sand and sand/sawdust mixes shall be calculated for materials pricing, Sawdust will be purchased by the Town from Thompson Native Lumber 385 Woodville Road, Hopkinton RI,
