Specifications include, but are not limited to: one new PlotSeed Drill to be used for small grains, canola, and specialty crops. The drill must be of newconstruction meeting the specifications outlined below; New, current model, steel frame construction with transport tie down rings (no prototypes allowed). Research type plot drill with double disk drill openers for seeding into a variety of soil conditions (tillage, minimum till, no-till). Drill openers must perform in a variety of different soil conditions and be readily adaptable to planting accurately at varying seed depths. Mount to tractor by 3-point Hitch, category 2 or category 3. Seven (7) Row units with 7.5-inch row spacing. The leading edge of the row units will be mounted at a staggered distance to the tool bar to create wider spaces for crop residue to flow through. Forward facing adjustable seat (up, down, forward, and backward) with seatbelt and platform for operator. Metal grid decking. Grip Strut Step. Drill must be able to handle large chickpea seed without blockage and small wheat and canola seed without significant seed loss. Drill will be used to seed wheat (40%), barley (20%), canola (20%), and pulses (20%) including peas, lentils, and chickpeas. Must be equipped with coulters leading before the row openers to apply dry fertilizer at varying soil depths synchronously when planting seed. Two Gandy boxes with 3 to 4 outlets each, electric driven, turn off automatically when the seeder is lifted. Drives can be managed via Trimble TMX 2050 monitor. Mounted in the front for safe filling, intended to supply dry fertilizer to coulters. Small Gandy boxes for continuous seed delivery for bulk seeding. Planter controller update via USB and thumb drive. Provide size specifications for drill: height, tool bar width, width at tires, and total weight. Total drill weight must be appropriate to utilize the down pressure of specified row units. Example if drill is equipped with 7 row units capable of 400 lbs down force per unit final drill weight should be greater than 2800 lbs (7*400) to have adequate weight to make the row units function properly. Additional brackets and weights must be provided if required to increase drill weight to an appropriate level.
