Specifications include, but are not limited to: construct a crushed asphalt base course (CABC) on Glacier Highway From Bessie Creek to Echo Cove while maintaining the existing geometry, dimensions, line and grades. The CABC will consists of the existing asphalt surface treatment and base course. Additional Aggregate Base Course, Grading D-1 may be required to restore the original grade.; d Aggregate Base Course, Grading D-1 to the Crushed Asphalt Base Course (CABC) to restore the original grade as directed by the Engineer. Do not place Aggregate Base Course until after the usable crushed asphalt base course has been placed.; Construct a crushed asphalt base course (CABC), using pulverized asphalt pavement and/or asphalt surface treatment, and existing base course to the dimensions and grades shown on the Plans; The equipment must be capable of pulverizing a variety of asphalt surfacing and base courses. Patched and overlay areas may exist throughout the project. Surfacing and base thickness may vary from as-built thickness, and from the thickness indicated on the Plans, if any are shown. Expect to find varying thicknesses and combinations of hot mix asphalt surfacing, cold mix asphalt surfacing, high float surfacing, chip seal surfacing, asphalt treated base course, and aggregate base course throughout the project extents.; Coordinate the pulverizing schedule with Maintenance and Operations (M&O) through the Engineer. Do not begin pulverizing operations without written permission from the Engineer. Do not pulverize more material than can be shaped and compacted to the finished line and grade in a single shift.; Material for RAM shall be a mixture of asphalt pavement, crushed and processed to produce particles not larger than 1 ½ inches with 95-100 percent smaller than 1 inch (based on visual inspections performed by the Engineer), and an equal amount of new Aggregate Base Course, Grading D-1, evenly mixed.
