Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor is required to be familiar with agronomic principals including, but not limited to, general maintenance, equipment use and care, soil chemistry, turfgrass species, identification of weeds, disease, and insects and their control and elimination.; The Contractor is required to render and provide grounds and landscape maintenance services, including but not limited to general maintenance of the grounds, the maintenance of the groundcover, shrubs, trees, renovation of groundcover areas, the pruning of shrubs, providing weed, disease and pest control, operating and maintaining specified components of the irrigation system, and the maintenance of any other equipment pursuant to the specifications and frequencies established by the College, as set forth herein, within the work areas identified. ; a) Trees - Minor damage, such as bark lost from impact of mowing equipment, shall be repaired by a qualified landscape maintenance person in accordance with accepted practices.; b) If damage results in the loss of a tree, the damaged tree shall be removed and replaced to comply with the landscaping plans on file.; c) Shrubs - Minor damage may be corrected by appropriate pruning.; d) Major damage to shrubs shall be corrected by the removal of the damaged shrub and replacement to the landscaping plans on file.; e) All damages resulting from inappropriate application of chemicals, either by spray drift or lateral leaching, shall be corrected in accordance with the appropriate measures as set forth by the Department of Agriculture.; A. Maintenance and Landscaping: 1. Contractor to provide a weekly schedule for all maintenance activities.; 2. Empty and realign all trash cans/receptacles throughout site twice daily. Trash cans/receptacles shall be emptied prior to 8:00 a.m. and again prior to end of work day (4:00 p.m.). Green Valley, Sahara West, Summerlin, and Western Centers empty trash containers each morning by 8:00 a.m. and each afternoon no earlier than 3:00 p.m.; 3. Maintain landscaped grounds areas, sidewalks, walkways, bleachers, parking lots and entry ways daily to be free of all weeds, grass clippings, leaves, trash, chewing gum and miscellaneous litter.; 4. Inspect for graffiti and notify CSN representative(s).; 5. Inspect the following items daily and take action as required to meet standards established. a) Maintain planter beds to be free of weeds and debris. Maintain appropriate topsoil levels throughout beds and landscaped areas as required.; b) All areas (excluding unimproved grounds) are to be free of weeds and unwanted growth. Unimproved grounds shall have no weeds exceeding four (4) inches in height and/or cover more than twenty percent (20%) of any one (1) square foot area.; c) Grass, native grass, weeds and other growth at the fence lines at the border stations shall be controlled and not exceed four (4) inches in height on both sides of the fence.
