Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Observe and record daily water levels on the spillway gauge at the dam and submit monthly reports to the DEC.; • Perform daily gate operations at the Dam to maintain water levels at 0-inches (plus or minus 3-inches) in accordance with the Water Resources Board Rules or as directed by the DEC. Record gate operations (date and nature of operation) and submit as part of monthly reports to DEC.; • Monitor the Dam during high flow and flood events. Record water levels at frequent intervals as required by the DEC (i.e. every four to eight hours) when levels are between plus 3 and plus 12 inches until the level returns to plus 3-inches.; • Immediately notify DEC and the Town of Castleton if the water level reaches or exceeds plus 12-inches. Perform frequent monitoring of the water levels and dam (i.e. every one to four hours) until water levels recede.; • Immediately notify DEC, the Town of Castleton, and Vermont Emergency Management Emergency Operations Center if the dam is in imminent danger of an incident or failing.; • Provide routine pick-up and proper disposal of litter on the dam property.; • Mow grass in the lawn area at the dam, as needed, to maintain a normal, lawn condition.; • Remove and properly dispose of debris, including weeds, branches, etc. from the spillways and gates at the Dam.; • Notify DEC of any deficiencies or issues at the dam, such as but not limited to operational issues with the gates, electrical issues, development of seepage or leakage at the dam, concrete issues, etc.; • Other related maintenance activities requested by the DEC at the site.
