Specifications include, but are not limited to: provide Full Spectrum Doula Services to birthing people,encompassing the prenatal and postpartum periods. The goal of this project is to enhance access and availability of culturally-matched birth doulas, to increase community and provider awareness of these services, to enhance sustainability for the futureavailability of this type of service and to contribute to the existing evidence basis for culturally-matched doula services to improvebirth outcomes and reduce maternal mortality. Culturally-matched birth support has been recommended by the Alaska MaternalMortality Review program during the review of maternal deaths from violence (homicide and suicide), therefore the intent focusesspecifically on supporting protective factors that reduce the risk of violence in the lives of birthing people.
