Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Division of Program Development & Statewide Planning Office of Alaska Highway Safety (AHSO), is soliciting proposals for experienced enforcement personnel (who may be retired officers) to be the Statewide Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL). The offeror selected for this position is accountable for promoting NHTSA priorities through the state’s highway safety programs. These programs are developed to encourage law enforcement executives and other agency leaders to actively support traffic safety laws, particularly those dealing with impaired driving, occupant protection and speed management. The Law Enforcement Liaison Program is a federal and state funded highway safety services. The Regional Offices and State Highway Safety Offices serve as the coordinating agencies for the program.
