Specifications include, but are not limited to: Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) seeks applications for the AEL Employer Engagement RFA from Applicants in partnership with an Employer to develop curricula for workplace programs and to deliver AEL Activities to eligible employees for Workplace Literacy and at least one (1) of the following activities: • Workplace Literacy with Employer Provided Training; or • Integrated Education and Training (IET). This statewide initiative for AEL Employer Engagement is part of the TWC’s comprehensive statewide strategy to end the middle skills gap in Texas. Due to technological advances in the workplace, employment demand has dramatically increased the need for middle skilled workers, defined as workers with some education beyond high school but less than a four-year degree. This initiative is to help put more Texas workers on a path to careers in rewarding Middle Skill Jobs through collaboration with Adult Education and Literacy Grantees, AEL Service Providers and Texas Employers.
