Specifications include, but are not limited to: Mowing: The work will include but is not limited to mowing, trimming, edging, debris removal, and other related work. This includes all berms and right of ways associated with the property unless otherwise noted. The frequency of mowing is determined by the growing season. The Owner reserves the right to adjust the property list as needed.; Mowing and maintenance work must include the removal and disposal of twigs, small branches, and other minor litter that can be collected from the mower and deposited into a 5-gallon bucket. Larger pieces of litter such as driftwood or construction debris will be collected and removed under the Laborer Quote Item of the contract if authorized by the Owner.; The mowing must not result in the scalping of the turf, displacement or rutting of the underlying soil, or other damage to the Owner's property or adjacent private property. If such damage is discovered, the Contractor must immediately modify the mowing operation, notify the Owner, and arrange for repairs at their own expense, as approved by the Owner.; Trimming and Edging: Portions of the mowing areas in which the Contractor cannot reasonably mow, such as signposts, trees, drain inlets, fire hydrants, curbs, walls, must be trimmed or edged with a string trimmer. The trimming or edging must be performed every second mowing, beginning with the first mowing of the season and must be completed within twenty-four (24) hours of the mowing of that area.; The trimming or edging must not damage the Owner's property or adjacent private property. If such damage is discovered, the Contractor must immediately modify the trimming/edging operation, notify the Owner, and arrange for repairs, at their own expense, as approved by the Owner.; Herbicide Application: The Contractor shall apply a selective broadleaf herbicide, such as a 2-4-D Amine or equivalent when directed by the Owner. Ester products will not be allowed. The application areas shall be directed by the Owner and are identified on the Quote Schedules.; Persons applying the herbicide shall be certified in the application of such chemicals. Proof of certification must be included with the bid submission. The Contractor shall follow label instructions and all applicable laws and regulations, and keep accurate records, which may be reviewed by the Owner or its designee. The Contractor shall notify and post any warning signs, as required by applicable laws and regulations.; Within ten (10) to fourteen (14) days following a herbicide application, any areas where more than three (3) living broadleaf plants per twenty-five (25) square foot area shall remain, the herbicide shall be reapplied until the number of living broadleaf plants per twenty-five (25) square foot area is three (3) or less. Additional reapplications to achieve this kill rate shall be at no extra cost to the Owner.
